Carolee Schneemann - 'Interior Scroll'

This is a really interesting work with a great deal of relevance to my performance piece with the text coming out of my mouth (played in reverse).

La Jetté - Chris Marker

An art-house kind of film that was shot in 16mm but then uses only film stills from the footage taken. It is very moody and dark, which is different to what my short film would be, but the narration and inclusion of text are some other things to consider...

part 1.

Marie-Jeanne Hoffner

Marie-Jeanne Hoffner is the artists that first got me thinking about drawing on top of an image, but right now i'm not sure in which way i want to take this approach. I feel like by just whiting out one person, the tourist, I'm not really saying much or it is too apparent to the viewer. right now i'm looking for some kind of twist or quirk to include to make the clip more captivating.

In the meantime, here are Marie-Jeanne Hoffner's beautiful images...

                                                                                                          carte

I think these last two are really interesting because they deal with negative space instead of just adding more onto an existing image. this could be another way of going about my animation, especially because when you travel you spend a lot of time focusing on the things that are missing.

Óscar Muñoz

A really amazing artist, Munoz's work looks similar to animations, but is shot in a continuous video. His work poetically explores the political climate in Colomia where the artist works, especially on people who go missing.
